Arrived to No Cool on upstairs system Identified faulty thermostat, homeowner had installed batteries backwards. Energized and tested system. System is almost completely out of R22 refrigerant.Little to no heat transfer is occurring within the system. Suction side is pulling into a vacuum. Homeowner request quote for replacement. In addition, downstairs system hasn’t cooled for an unknown period of time
Replaced outdoor 3 pole contactor. Tested system. System is low on refrigerant, approximately 4 to 6 pounds of R22. System will freeze if allowed to run. Diagnostics photo attached. Unknown how long system has been running with low refrigerant levels. Amp draw is low and superheat is high, which are both symptoms of a system running with low refrigerant levels. The compressor sounds like it’s been running with low refrigerant levels for a significant period of time. I initially thought the compressor was running backwards due to the vibrations and sounds of the system running. Checked to ensure voltage was in phase and it was. System is an R22 unit from 2007. Possibility of total compressor failure after adding refrigerant is high. Factory charge of unit is 10 pounds with an additional 1-2 pounds to account for line set and evaporator Due to cost of R22 refrigerant and likelihood of future part failure, recommend system replacement
Arrived to No Cool Identified faulty 3 amp fuse on control board. 3 amp fuse is faulting due to outdoor contactor failure. Video attached. Need to replace 3 pole contactor. Estimate included Outdoor unit disconnect off at outdoor unit Indoor unit off at Breaker #8

Arrived to No Cool System has multiple issues 1. Evaporator drain pan is rusted to the point water is leaking down furnace and into emergency drain pan 2. Emergency drain pan has had drain connector destroyed and no longer has a drain. This is the location that water that is leaking into emergency pan is leaking onto ceiling 3. Blower motor is extremely dirty causing low airflow 4. System is overcharged with R22 refrigerant. More than likely, the system was freezing due to low airflow so refrigerant was added to prevent this freezing Photos attached
