YORK. Upon arrival system is low on 410A refrigerant, did complementary leak search was getting hits in indoor evaporator coil with electronic leak detector. Added (1) pound of 410A to system with homeowners approval. Will need to to call York and see if evaporator is under warranty and get price, systems were down today.
Finished DCM2 service on right side of home system, tested system operations found charge readings on unit low roughly 1 pound of R22. R22 is no longer in production due to EPA regulations. System should not leak Freon adding Freon to system would only provide temporary comfort. system if from 2003 and is 20 years old due to condition of system would recommend replacement.
Call for system not cooling, on arrival found thermostat reading temperature in the house at 66* checked with temp probe and was reading 74, found that one of the filter grills had a extremely dirty washable filter, noticed that several of the supplies registers had no air coming through, went into crawl space and found that duct work was in very poor condition, one of the return ducts was not attached to return plenum, blower and evaporator coil is dirty due to the poor duct work, system is 22 years old in poor condition and beyond its life expectancy, it is recommended to consider replacing system.

No a/c in the bridal room, found that there was water in the Aux. Pan, owner said that system had frozen up, found that the filter was very dirty and clogged, with owners permission replaced filter and vacuumed water, gave estimate for maintenance.
